Bear is about 14 months old and a real ham. He is cute, petite (around 25 lbs or less), comical and super affectionate. Look at that face, how could you resist him? He is good in the car, loves to play, loves to be loved on. He is housebroken and crate-trained. What he is not is good with most other dogs, especially males. He does like some females, but for some unknown reason, just thinks other males are trouble. When he meets a dog he is not aggressive at all, but over time, issues come up and little Bear will not back down when challenged by the big boys!
Bear was adopted out once but we got him back because the adopter had several other dogs, males, and there were problems. No one was hurt, but it was a constant struggle to make sure certain dogs were separated. So, the easiest soluion was that Bear came back to us. It was not an easy decision for the adopter, but she had had the other dogs a long time and Bear was the newcomer.:(
He is phenomenal with people though. He thinks all people you come in contact with are really there for his benefit which means, of course, petting, treat giving and maybe, if the human is very very good, some lap time thrown in as a bonus.
Okay, so Bear won't be a hit at the dog park. But he will be a hit with you and your family. He is a great dog, just has that little dog syndrome when it comes to other dogs, especially those males.
